I know quite a bit about FL Studio myself and have went through all the troubleshoots that I know of. I have recorded this short video to show you the problem: VIDEO. Normally FL Studio should create a new sampler and show it in the playlist but it is not possible to drop any audio clips into the playlist. When ever I tried to record audio on my computer, it will not show on the playlist. Then if I want to record again, I have to purge the recording in Edison and press record in both the main program and Edison since Edison does not start recording automatically when I press record in FL. Use Edison as your editing tool, you can edit your recorded audio by clicking the top left menu on a particular audio clip in the Playlist … I really need to be able to record using either method. I'm not sure if there are other topics like this (if so, let me know), but since upgrading to Windows 10 I have this problem: I'm no longer able to drag audio files (from the desktop or any folder) into the Playlist of FL Studio. on a final song with over 35 separate final recording segments, having to use edison is extremely problematic. You save time by having a Channel and Playlist Track already created for you each time you record. I'm simply not able to record audio into the playlist as an audio clip. I have a dynamic microphone hooked up to the first input of my audio interface therefore, in order for FL Studio to record the audio from my microphone I have to select 'Input 1' on the mixer. All I get is an icon saying 'you can't do that' (circle with diagonal line). Hey guys, I have a really strange problem since today. FL Studio searches each Track for any existing content, if there is content on a track it'll place it on the next available Track. If you have a Timeline selection, FL Studio will search the selection rather than the Track in its entirety. (If I remember) there was a option to record audio and automation to playlist. Is there anything else to attempt? I like recording into the playlist because the recordings are in sync with the rest of the song by default.
Then, on the top right corner of the mixer where it says '(none)' click on the drop down menu and select the input for your microphone.
